SUNDAY- Arrival Costa Rica /Homestay
Arrival San Jose Airport. Greeting by Rancho de Espanol Language School Staff in airport lobby. Transfer to Rancho de Espanol in La Guacima,
a small, friendly community. This region is known as the Valley of the Sun. Rancho de Espanol serves as the meeting point
and social center for all activities. Meet the Program Directors as you're introduced to your host families.
YOUR MIDDLE CLASS HOST FAMILIES
are relatives, neighbors, or lifelong friends of our homestay directors. In fact, many host families are related to one another. Regardless, all families
are monitored and continually evaluated. Host families provide all meals - except those included as part of the touring. Everyone speaks Spanish in the home.
Students normally share with one other group member of the same general language ability.
MONDAY- FRIDAY - Daily Language Classes
Daily half day language classes -in outdoor classrooms- feature a blend of structure, conversation, and practicalities.
Class size averages 3-6 students per native teacher, assuring individual attention and ample opportunity for participation.
The park-like campus has volleyball, soccer,
and a swimming pool for student use in the afternoon and evening (requires teacher supervision).

The following half day are included:
- Monday: Cooking, featuring picadillo and tortillas.
- Tuesday: Panoramic drive to Cafe Britt. Experience firsthand the incredible process that transforms a red coffee cherry into a perfect cup of coffee - all the while being entertained with tales of coffee tradition, songs, and costumes.
Then, visit Moravia, a popular craft center. Enjoy shopping for traditional hand-painted oxcarts and souvenirs.
- Wednesday: Salsa !
- Thursday & Friday: Participate in our exclusive SOMOS humanitarian total experience. You'll receive a list of the most needed items and visit a local 'super', where you'll
have an opportunity to purchase those supplies (budget $15 each). Complete your SOMOS experience as you interact with the children while painting, gardening, etc.
SATURDAY - Arenal/Hot Springs
Farewell to your host families as you drive to the Arenal Volcano. Enjoy a swim in the therapeutic waters of Baldi, located at the base of the volcano. Overnight in the region.
SUNDAY - Bosque Tropical/ Chocolate
Morning drive to the Bosque Tropical. Upon arrival at the Sarapiqui River, cruise through the magnificent rainforest as you witness tropical birds,
monkeys, sloth, lizards and caiman. Sarapiqui River. Following lunch, participate in a unique chocolate .
Experience the chocolate-making process first-hand and even have the opportunity to treat your taste buds to organic rainforest chocolate!
MONDAY - Optional Zip-Lining
Following breakfast, consider a popular option to nearby Hacienda Pozo Azul, a 400 acre, protected forest where 12 cables and 14 platforms have been installed.
This canopy ride has double cable in each zip line. Railing surrounds each platform. The tour ends with a spectacular 330 ft.
line that crosses the Sarapiqui River Canyon, landing right by the reception building. In the event that your flight
itinerary does not allow an airport transfer on Tuesday, you will stay overnight near the San Jose International Airport.
